Lead Time is a publication about thinking ahead. The homes we live in now, the homes we might want later, and the choices that determine which is which.
I write it because there's a gap between the information available about aging-in-place housing and the kind of reflection most people actually need. Technical resources and renovation cost calculators are easy to find. Honest, structured ways to think about whether a home will support a person's next twenty years are harder.
Most of what I write here is drawn from my background as a REALTOR® and Seniors Real Estate Specialist® in Calgary, where much of my practice has involved working with clients in or approaching retirement. The work has taught me what to look for in a home, what to ask, and what the answers tend to mean over time.
Lead Time exists to share that thinking with people who would rather decide earlier than later.
